Sajeeb Saha is a New York City based song-writer, producer, guitarist, bassist, beat maker, and synth player. He was classically trained on the violin from the age of 5. Immersed in the world of Vivaldi concertos and Bach suites, Sajeeb quickly developed a passion for the instrument. In middle school he joined the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra in Pittsburgh and became the concertmaster of his school orchestra. Upon moving to New York, he joined the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra and was admitted into his school's Chamber Orchestra. Sajeeb ultimately was inducted into his high school's music Honor Society. He also was ranked as an All-State violinist of New York in his junior year.
Around this time, Sajeeb began to explore other genres of music. Having listened to bands such as Fall Out Boy and Green Day during his freshman year, he decided to pick up the guitar in 2007. He quickly taught himself how to play, showcasing his talent onto YouTube. He soon developed a strong following and soon began to rack up views and subscribers. His channel "BengaliBehala" currently has over 800 subscribers and over 400,000 views.
During his senior year, he was inspired by one of his teachers to write songs. He began to experiment with electronica synths and hip-hop beats with punk rock guitar riffs to create a synthpop sound. Sajeeb also uses auto-tuned vocals, adding more to the electro vibe to his songs. His lyrics are heartfelt and poetic and his riffs evoke a dreamy sensation to the listener, as if they were floating in the clouds.
By mid-2009 he had written a dozen songs and by October, he had released his first single, "The Kids and the Lotus (I Will Not Audition)" feat. Kenny Wallach onto iTunes. He's currently working on his debut release, Lovers, Liars, and Lullabies which is slated for an early 2010 release.
Sajeeb is currently a freshman at New York University
